1 egg white
1 cup fine granulated sugar
1/4 cup cold water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
In top of double boiler, combine unbeaten egg white, sugar and cold water. Place over boiling water and cook, beating constantly with rotary beaters, until frosting will stand in peaks, about seven minutes. Remove from heat and beat in vanilla and baking powder. Spread on cold cake. Can substitute 1 cup white for 1 cup brown sugar to make amber.
