Maple Leaf CEO true leader

A propane gas explosion in Toronto prompts the Mayor to return to town long enough to pass along some blame, and then quickly disappear again on holidays. A city councillor returns from Italy and tells a constituent to shut up during a press conference. Are these examples of leadership? I totally doubt it. Maple Leaf Foods has some problems and very quickly closes plants, clears shelves of their product and begins the process, difficult as it is, of trying to find the source and correct the problem. In the meantime CEO Michael McCain goes on television and publicly apologizes across the country, and also informs folks on what is being done to correct the situation. Will this have an adverse effect on the sale of Maple Leaf food products? I certainly do hope not. Here is an example of a true leader who is out there in the public eye taking the flack and admitting to the problem. I doubt he would ever do as a politician, he's way too honest and forthcoming.
