TSN 2 launches today

SPORTS — at 8 p.m. local time. The new 24-hour sports speciality channel will essential replace TSN's alternate feed.

The service will provie 800 plus hours of live sports coverage with exclusive programing as well as repeats of events on the main TSN channel. This will alow for live events aired on TSN, such as UEFA Cup games, to air in prime time on TSN2 for fans who have to work and miss the original broadcast.

The channel launches with live coverage of the U.S. Open tennis tournament. It will also feature events from the NHL, CFL, NBA, curling, international hockey, golf, NASCAR, IndyCar, tennis, soccer, boxing, mixed martial arts and NCAA football and basketball.

TSN2 launches on August 29 at 7 p.m. ET with exclusive live Canadian coverage of the U.S. Open tennis tournament.
